About Me

My photo
College Student. Sometimes dancer. Aspiring fashion journalist and everyday style enthusiast. I started my blog back in 2010 on a whim, and now it has grown into the visual representation of the power that I believe fashion can have. It's not about having clothes it's about what you do with them, what you wear says who you are. Fashion is transformative, and a chic bag or outfit puts a smile on my face as much as a good book on a rainy day. My blog is about dressing the undergrad and young professional, because so little markets cater to our style. You've officially been accepted into The Undergrad Style File. The Sun in My Face, and toes in the Sand

So I finally did it...I took that day trip to the beach with my crazy friends that I've been planning since the dawn of time :)...So here's how the day went, my friends, me, Atlantic City and 90 degree weather, it was a whole day, of photos, fashion, and tomfoolery...now let's give you what you came here for...THE BEACH FASHION!

I have officially come down with "pin-up fever", I love anything vintage especially those styles inspired by the pin-up fashions of the 1940's and 50's, anything and everything from halter tops, polka dots, big floppy hats, glamour girl curls, and high-waisted shorts. So I was feeling inspired at the beach...I picked up this too cute not to be seen white floppy sun hat to save my skin from the sun, and at 10$ from a boardwalk shop it saved my wallet too. I scored this floral 1950's-esque swimsuit for 20$ from Burlington Coat Factory, and felt like it harkened back to the old days. Throw in my last minute mid-rise denim shorts from Old Navy for 15$, and I felt like a pin-up girl. My entire beach ensemble was 45$ which is usually the cost of a decent swimsuit...but when your a fierce shopper you find a way to beat the odds <3

How to Have "Me" Day: Summer Edition

So just like a typical college student, I did a little happy dance after my last final was over, while boldly declaring how awesome Summer 2012 would be, but guess what fellow fashionistas. Its about the third week of vacation and already I am BORED...so may I present "How to Have A "Me" Day."
If you find yourself texting five different people in an attempt to make plans or switching through 100 different cable channels...GET OUT OF THE HOUSE IMMEDIATELY!...Go outside, if the beach is out of your reach, I suggest going downtown. Open up your closet throw on the cutest brightest sundress, lace up some espadrille wedges, and slip on some oversized "don't look at me" sunglasses, and hit the street. Find the most exotic flavored icecream and read that book you've been eyeballing since forever. Find a spot in a park or by the water, open up a page, lift up your icecream and have yourself a happy Me Day :)

Relax in Luxe: Dorm Edition

Relax in luxe the dorm room edition. Tearing out a page from Gossip Girl decor particularly the character Blair Waldorf's NYU Season 3 dorm room color scheme. Deep purples, blues, accented by shimmers of silver. I practically drooled over all the zebra print I saw in the dorms at school, so I had to throw in the rug.
Add in a clever poster, and you've got a dorm room fit for a fashionista.

Spring Awakening...

SO..it's Easter fellow fashion lovers, okay, so Easter was a few weeks ago, but in the world of Tiff and fashion, bettter late than never. One

of my favorite holidays, the Ham and church with my family is one tradition I manage to keep as everything else changes. What else does Easter mean? An outfit of course...and my outfit this year was "very Gossip-girl-esque", channeling Blair Waldorf. Start with my black and white floral strapless dress for $22.50 from Ross, my peep-toe pumps from payless ($30), and my ribbon and chain statement necklace for $6.50 from Burlington Coat Factory, and its very Sunday dinner appropriate ;). Not to be outdone by brightly dyed-Easter eggs, food that makes me full just from staring at it, and my favorite accessory...quirkiness.

Ladies Who Lunch...

Fall into the ocean with an aquamarine blue lace shift dress that harkens back to Madonna circa 1980's. Coupled with black ballet flats from H and M, you'll be comfortable whether trolling the vintage stores, or sipping lattes at an outdoor cafe with other fashionable people. The taupe oversized shades bring a pop of color, while the crystal flower necklace adds a little glitz.

Tackling the colored pants trend without looking like a neon nightmare. I paired candy apple red skinnies with a white button down from H&M, and pastel flats to keep the look neutral, while the animal print shoulder bag gives the whole look some spice.
