About Me

My photo
College Student. Sometimes dancer. Aspiring fashion journalist and everyday style enthusiast. I started my blog back in 2010 on a whim, and now it has grown into the visual representation of the power that I believe fashion can have. It's not about having clothes it's about what you do with them, what you wear says who you are. Fashion is transformative, and a chic bag or outfit puts a smile on my face as much as a good book on a rainy day. My blog is about dressing the undergrad and young professional, because so little markets cater to our style. You've officially been accepted into The Undergrad Style File. These Are A Few of My Favorite Things: Winter Edition

These Are A Few of My Favorite Things: Winter Edition

So this post will be short and sweet, because of course it's Christmas Eve, and what's sweeter?
A top three few of my favorite things now, that are trending the most on my Winter wishlist. Chunky, warm, infinity scarves, they come in a variety of styles, fabrics, and can be worn multiple ways...more bang for your buck. Oversized sweaters, whether open knit, asymmetrical, or off-the-shoulder they are cozily stylish. And while you wear your oversized weater with an infinity scarf of course! Drink coffee, decadent hot chocolate or soothing tea ( mint is my personal fav)..because tis' the season :)

Gobble, Gobble

So it's that time again...the one day where anything but a Turkey and filling your belly would be uncivilized. THANKSGIVING! Breaking out my Christmas spirit, I went for a cherry red skater dress, some black sweater tights for warmth, and my goes with everything black boots. I put my twists into a ballet bun, to keep  up a posh feel and then stuffed my face :) .The festive season is upon us, and remember to take every opportunity just to feel a little special. Today was the day to remember how fortunate we really are, stylishly of course. Happy Turkey Day! Eat a slice of pie for me.

The Weather Outside May Be Frightful...

But that is no reason your fashion can't be delightful. In the midst of the dramatic drop in temperatures on the East Coast, I took the opportunity to pull out some flannel. In order to bring some glam to the rustic appeal of flannel, I threw on a baby pink crystal necklace, some black sweater tights for warmth, and my fav cognac colored riding boots. But you can make the look your own by adding a vest or a cardigan for another layer of interest (and warmth ;) ). Happy Fashion!

Brights, Done Right

As the summer draws to a close and we roll up our sleeves and button up our high-waisted shorts for the last time, I present what might be my favorite fashion element. Nails!! They can class up or liven up any outfit, From the basic white T and jeans college staple or take it up a notch for those people who blessedly look fabulous everyday.

My favorite way to do this is with pops of color, take my OPI Turquoise nail polish for example. A bright and fun color that can easily transcend seasons, if the rest of an outfit is kept pared down, then bright fingertips can act as a neutral. To make nails, an outfit component all on its own pick bold and brave jewelry, (bracelets, rings), like my aqua blue stone cocktail ring from H&M, pictured above.

The Sun in My Face, and toes in the Sand

So I finally did it...I took that day trip to the beach with my crazy friends that I've been planning since the dawn of time :)...So here's how the day went, my friends, me, Atlantic City and 90 degree weather, it was a whole day, of photos, fashion, and let's give you what you came here for...THE BEACH FASHION!

I have officially come down with "pin-up fever", I love anything vintage especially those styles inspired by the pin-up fashions of the 1940's and 50's, anything and everything from halter tops, polka dots, big floppy hats, glamour girl curls, and high-waisted shorts. So I was feeling inspired at the beach...I picked up this too cute not to be seen white floppy sun hat to save my skin from the sun, and at 10$ from a boardwalk shop it saved my wallet too. I scored this floral 1950's-esque swimsuit for 20$ from Burlington Coat Factory, and felt like it harkened back to the old days. Throw in my last minute mid-rise denim shorts from Old Navy for 15$, and I felt like a pin-up girl. My entire beach ensemble was 45$ which is usually the cost of a decent swimsuit...but when your a fierce shopper you find a way to beat the odds <3

How to Have "Me" Day: Summer Edition

So just like a typical college student, I did a little happy dance after my last final was over, while boldly declaring how awesome Summer 2012 would be, but guess what fellow fashionistas. Its about the third week of vacation and already I am may I present "How to Have A "Me" Day."
If you find yourself texting five different people in an attempt to make plans or switching through 100 different cable channels...GET OUT OF THE HOUSE IMMEDIATELY!...Go outside, if the beach is out of your reach, I suggest going downtown. Open up your closet throw on the cutest brightest sundress, lace up some espadrille wedges, and slip on some oversized "don't look at me" sunglasses, and hit the street. Find the most exotic flavored icecream and read that book you've been eyeballing since forever. Find a spot in a park or by the water, open up a page, lift up your icecream and have yourself a happy Me Day :)

Relax in Luxe: Dorm Edition

Relax in luxe the dorm room edition. Tearing out a page from Gossip Girl decor particularly the character Blair Waldorf's NYU Season 3 dorm room color scheme. Deep purples, blues, accented by shimmers of silver. I practically drooled over all the zebra print I saw in the dorms at school, so I had to throw in the rug.
Add in a clever poster, and you've got a dorm room fit for a fashionista.

Spring Awakening...'s Easter fellow fashion lovers, okay, so Easter was a few weeks ago, but in the world of Tiff and fashion, bettter late than never. One

of my favorite holidays, the Ham and church with my family is one tradition I manage to keep as everything else changes. What else does Easter mean? An outfit of course...and my outfit this year was "very Gossip-girl-esque", channeling Blair Waldorf. Start with my black and white floral strapless dress for $22.50 from Ross, my peep-toe pumps from payless ($30), and my ribbon and chain statement necklace for $6.50 from Burlington Coat Factory, and its very Sunday dinner appropriate ;). Not to be outdone by brightly dyed-Easter eggs, food that makes me full just from staring at it, and my favorite accessory...quirkiness.

Ladies Who Lunch...

Fall into the ocean with an aquamarine blue lace shift dress that harkens back to Madonna circa 1980's. Coupled with black ballet flats from H and M, you'll be comfortable whether trolling the vintage stores, or sipping lattes at an outdoor cafe with other fashionable people. The taupe oversized shades bring a pop of color, while the crystal flower necklace adds a little glitz.

Tackling the colored pants trend without looking like a neon nightmare. I paired candy apple red skinnies with a white button down from H&M, and pastel flats to keep the look neutral, while the animal print shoulder bag gives the whole look some spice.
